A Webinar to Assist in Understanding the Situation in Myanmar


Tourism has been called the world’s first ‘Global Peace Industry’ - contributing to international understanding, cooperation among nations, an improved quality of environment, cultural enhancement and the preservation of heritage, poverty reduction, reconciliation and healing wounds of conflicts. What happens to a destination when the realities of a crackdown by the military on civilians dominates the global image of the destination?


We will provide the opportunity for representatives from the Myanmar tourism industry to give their perspective on the impacts of the military coup on their country and their economic future.


All the speakers from Myanmar will be anonymous, as many of our colleagues have been arrested just for talking to the media!
