Honoring Black History and Culture in Baltimore this February

Every month is Black History Month in Baltimore, but in February, it’s official! Things look a little different this year, but there are still ways to discover Charm City’s rich African American culture and heritage. After you’ve brushed up on Baltimore’s history, check out what you can do or see to experience if all for yourself. You can even spend a day literally walking the footsteps of Baltimore-born Frederick Douglass!

When you get hungry (or if you don’t feel like leaving the house), order from one of Baltimore’s many Black-owned restaurants. There’s something for everyone, including decadent sweet treats and award-winning vegan soul food. And the fun doesn’t stop in the kitchen. The city’s Black makers are dedicated to filling your home with specially curated clothes, candles and so much more.
