BIRDS IN SINGAPORE It is a popular pastime to bring one’s bird to local coffee shops to compete with each other. The Jurong Bird Park houses over 300 species of birds. Some birds can be found on the street, acting as fortune tellers by selecting cards for the passerby, creating a novel form of divination.

THAIPUSAM FESTIVAL This annual Hindu Festival features a huge parade, and male devotees make the two and a half mile trek through the parade wearing what appears to be a personal float that is skewered on quite uncomfortably.
